Good news…answered prayer.   A family close to St. Charles offered to let me stay with them for free for a couple months while I keep raising support, find a job, and look for a roomate and apartment.  I just settled into my new accommodations yesterday.  It’s a great temporary situation to help me save some money while I transition to life and ministry here.  Thanks so much for the prayers, and I would ask for your continued prayer for a part time job and for the remaining 35% of my budget to come in so I can be on campus full time.

It’s been a bit of a slow start for ministry, due to a pretty nasty bug I caught last week.  I’m feeling much better now and starting next week will be spending 20-30 hours on campus.  Meanwhile Janet, Krissy, and Maria (the other IV staff/interns at Lindenwood) have been back into the full swing of things for the semester.  Each week we meet with out student leaders, hold 2 prayer gatherings, a bible study, and do various outreach events.  I’ve already had the chance to meet a few of our student leaders, and last week we took a group of 20+ international students (mostly Nepalese) on a tour of downtown : the Arch, Grand Central Station, the Cathedral…  They had just arrived 3 days prior and were enjoying their first off-campus look at America.   I’m looking forward to getting to know these and other students more and investing in their lives.

Finally!

…a quick little 13 hour drive and I am here in St. Louis. Please pray that I would find a part-time job and place to live.

Sorry for the blog neglect…the latest news…

Hope you had a good holiday and are doing better on keeping to your new years resolutions than I am!  My main resolution is to read through the chronological Bible-in-a-year, and those genealogies just totally sap my motivation…but as of today I am all caught up.

Just wanted to send a quick update before I move, THIS WEEK.  With your help I did reach my goal of 60% (I am now at 64%) of my budget raised or pledged by Christmas, and am so deeply thankful for your generosity. Thank you!!

I am moving to St. Charles this Tuesday.  I will be staying with some IV co-workers until I can find an apartment, hopefully by February.  I will begin to work about 20 hours a week on campus at Lindenwood and also hope to find a part time job for some extra income while I finish raising support.  My goal will be to have 100% of my support raised by new staff training in mid-summer, so I can be on campus full time when the students begin in the fall.  I am so thankful they are letting me be on campus part-time this semester, as I am eager to get to know the students and the campus that I will be working with for the next five years.

Thank you so much for the prayers, encouragements and financial gifts that will propel the work of the kingdom on this college campus.  I’d love to hear from you!

Where Am I?
