Introduction, Prayer, and 20×30

Hello Lake Forest, I’m Jordan. (click to see ‘about me’ section of blog).

It’s been great to get to know many of you over the past couple of years, and I am so incredibly appreciative of how you as a church are sending me out on the missio dei to the college campus.  My goal is to share the love of Christ with students – many of whom are walking away from the church as they leave their homes for the first time, face all kinds of new pressures, and begin making life formative choices.  Students are the feature leaders of our society – and teaching them to follow Jesus now not only effects an individual life, but will go on to affect their respective families and our culture as a whole.

How many times have we heard from people we support that ‘I need your prayers more than your giving…” Sometimes that can feel like a comfortable afterthought to uncomfortably asking for financial support.

Well, believe me when I say that – super spiritual mumbo jumbo aside – the other IV staff, myself, and the students at central need your prayers more than your financial support. Prayer gives God leadership of the ministry, not us. Please pray as the school year gets ready to begin. Pray especially for many freshmen to enter into and find a home quickly in our community. That can change the trajectory of an entire life.

That being said – there is no ministry to pray for if it is not first made possible by your giving. It’s really that simple… your generosity = ministry is possible.  I am working on my final fund raising push – “20×30” – asking 20 new donors to give 30/mo. If 20 people say yes, I will meet my budget for this upcoming year, as currently I am 600/mo short.

If you are not already, would you give $30/month so that students can hear and be transformed by the gospel?

You can sign up for monthly giving online here : www.intervarsity.org/donate/to/jordan_kologe/eft (or click here for more info)

I cannot say thank you enough for your support.

There is much that is worthy to give towards, and especially at times such as this there is less money to give. I will be writing some of you to get in touch personally. Please do not feel pressure to give if you do not have the means or do not desire to. I am confident that if it is not through you God will still fund the work, but I would deeply appreciate your help.
