Funding Update :: 2010-2011 fiscal year

Hello again friends!

Here is the promised funding update for the 2010 – 2011 fiscal year starting in July! Here is the simple breakdown:

Needs: 54,372/yr OR 4,531/mo ::: % Budget Raised: 72% ::: $ Short: 15,126/yr OR 1,260/mo

First I want to again say THANK YOU for your generosity over the past year and a half in partnering with me in ministry through InterVarsity. I can never say thank you enough. I acknowledge that there are so many wonderful people and causes to give towards in the midst of a financially difficult year and I am humbled and honored that you have directed resources and prayers my way. So if you hear any one thing from this email, please hear that I am so thankful for your you. It has been a joy to report to you the throughout this past year of the dozens and dozens of students challenged and impacted and completely changed through our ministry! As I am working to meet the budget needs for the upcoming year, I am in the process of trying to contact many of you personally. I would also now like to extend a corporate invitation to a few different categories of partnership.

Current monthly donors: Would you please prayerfully consider, in light of your current financial situation, if you are able to increase your monthly giving? Would you be able to increase your monthly giving by 30, 40, or 50%? (You may do so by going here – click Log in to manage giving) If all monthly supporters could increase their amount of financial giving by 30%, my budget would be met before the school year begins!

One time donors from 2009-2010 fiscal year: In light of your current financial situation, would you also please prayerfully consider repeating your one time gift OR signing up for monthly giving? Summer

Friends and Family –

Summer! I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. I am home in North Carolina for a few weeks spending time with my family before I head back to Campus in Pella in early August. It is great to be home getting my fill of real meals and southern sun. Highlights so far — THE WORLD CUP! (this final is going to be amazing) and a short visit with my grandparents in Kentucky.

You may be wondering what IV staff do during the summer. Summer is a time to regroup, raise support, and plan for the coming year. We are just starting to gear up again for New Student Outreach (NSO). The first few weeks at college are a critical time for freshmen to get plugged in to a community. This can effect the trajectory of their entire life! So over the first few weeks of school the student leadership team and I will be very busy putting on all kinds of events on campus to get freshmen involved. Praying for many students to get involved through NSO would be a great way to invest your prayers in the ministry right now!

This year I am happy to be working with Ben Lewis. Ben was on our student leadership team last year and just graduated this past May. I worked closely with him leading a community in one of the dorms. He is a very outgoing, energetic, visionary guy that I am excited to have on board. He is also going to be my roommate for the first semester. I think this picture captures Ben pretty well…

For now I just wanted to touch base with you all and would love to hear back that latest with your lives and families! Soon you can expect a financial update detailing my current support level and budget need for the coming school year.
